  • Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is dedicated to growing and sustaining the WCC community. This committee leads new member recruitment, supports member retention, and establishes goals that strengthen our network. They communicate the value of WCC membership, promote doing business with fellow members and associate members, and encourage active volunteer participation — all while championing the mission and principles of WCC.

The committee also partners closely with the Marketing Committee to create and maintain essential resources, including membership packets, outreach materials, and awareness campaigns for members, public agencies, and industry partners. All efforts are guided by the direction and vision of the WCC Board of Directors.

  • Events Committee

The Events Committee brings the WCC community together by planning and promoting impactful networking events, outreach activities, and annual signature celebrations — including our highly anticipated Halloween Golf Tournament and the International Women’s Day Luncheon.

This committee oversees event logistics from start to finish, including designing email invitations and flyers, securing venues, coordinating vendors, and maintaining an up-to-date calendar of WCC events and activities.

The Events Committee works closely with the Marketing Committee to ensure consistent branding and communication, and keeps the WCC Board of Directors informed throughout the planning process. Their work creates meaningful experiences that strengthen relationships, expand our network, and elevate women in construction.

  • JMS/Mentoring Committee

The JMS/Mentoring Committee carries forward the legacy of Julia Morgan by inspiring and supporting the next generation of women (and men) in construction, engineering, and architecture. Through the Julia Morgan Society (JMS), this committee connects high school students with real-world professionals who can spark curiosity, build confidence, and open pathways into our industry.

Committee members help plan and host Julia Morgan Club meetings at local high schools, where industry professionals share their stories, challenges, and successes. These sessions give students hands-on exposure to construction, engineering, and architectural careers — helping them see what’s possible and envision themselves in the field.

In addition to mentorship and career exploration, the JMS/Mentoring Committee promotes and supports student scholarships, helping promising young women (and men) take the next steps toward their educational and professional goals.

The committee collaborates with the Events Committee to coordinate club meetings and student-focused activities, and works with the Marketing & Promotions Committee to highlight mentorship opportunities, success stories, and scholarship initiatives.

By sharing their time, experience, and passion, JMS/Mentoring Committee members play a vital role in shaping future leaders and strengthening the talent pipeline within our industry.

  • Marketing/Promotions Committee

The Marketing & Promotions Committee amplifies the mission and visibility of WCC through strategic communication and creative outreach. This committee develops, implements, and evaluates WCC’s marketing plan to promote a strong and positive image across the construction industry.

Their responsibilities span all areas of marketing — including public relations, media relations, promotions, advertising, content development, and industry research. The committee also tracks the effectiveness of marketing initiatives by gathering and reviewing feedback to enhance future outreach efforts.

Working closely with our designer, the committee plans and manages WCC’s social media presence, ensuring consistent, engaging, and mission-driven content across all platforms.

The Marketing & Promotions Committee collaborates with the Membership and Events Committees to develop and maintain essential materials, including membership packets, event promotions, and media releases. All efforts are guided by the direction and vision of the WCC Board of Directors to ensure consistency and alignment with WCC’s mission.
